Insurance and excess

All rentals include comprehensive insurance with a 5% excess, capped at approximately EUR 2,000. In the event of an at-fault accident, if the repair cost is lower than the excess, the customer pays only the actual repair cost. If damages exceed the excess, only the contractual excess applies. An accident report is required for insurance coverage, and a police report is required if anyone is injured.

Items not covered by insurance

Insurance does not cover tyres, rims, lost keys, vehicle documents or damage caused by improper use of the vehicle.

Deposit and guarantee hold

A deposit is requested as a bank pre-authorisation. It is not charged unless there is damage or a breach of the rental terms. The hold is released after the vehicle is returned, according to normal banking timelines.

Payment terms

Rental payment is made when the vehicle is delivered. Payment can be made in cash, in euros or Moroccan dirhams. Bank cards are accepted, with additional fees depending on the payment method.

General rental terms

Rental days are calculated by calendar day, not by 24-hour period. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up.

Vehicle use

Vehicles may be used on roads and tracks under normal conditions, including light off-road use. Dangerous, abusive or non-contractual driving is prohibited. For specific routes, MoroccoCars can also provide a desert kit including a sand board, shovel and compressor for EUR 60 per rental.

Required documents

To finalise your rental, a valid driving licence, passport or ID document, and a bank card for the deposit are required.

Booking and deposit

A 20% deposit may be requested to hold a vehicle option. Required documents can be sent in advance so delivery can be prepared smoothly.
